This place was the very first thing I ever put on my bucket list, and I finally got to experience it in person. As breathtaking as it looks in photos.

I was trying to find this little bar across the river called The Amorosa, and while lost, I took this picture from a pier. I eventually found the bar, though it took a while to find, as it was tucked away in a small alleyway on the 4th floor of a small hotel called Arun Residence.

Canoe rentals are quite popular in Austin. Caught this family gliding across the water on Town Lake.

The crowds on National Day (Oct 1) were huge. Cops were there to handle the pedestrian and car traffic. This is the moment when the pedestrians are allowed to cross. After a while, the cops stand in two lines blocking off all pedestrians, allowing cars to pass. Handheld at 1/3 sec to get the pedestrian blur. ISO 400 for less noise.

In recent years, Austin has seen a rise in participation of stand up paddling. Caught this perfect moment of this guy floating under Lamar Bridge while I was walking across Pedestrian Bridge.

This was taken on the day of the Burj Khalifa's official (and lavish) inauguration ceremony. It was actually called the Burj Dubai, and was only later revealed in the opening ceremony, that it would be renamed Burj Khalifa. View was taken from Souk Al-Bahar.

A slightly different perspective than the typical 'sailboat' shot. Being that this opened in 1999 (old by Dubai standards), it doesn't have quite the 'excessiveness' that characterizes Dubai in the 2000's. Don't get my wrong, it's still extravagant and lavish, but not compared to some of the newer buildings. Which makes this one my favorite in Dubai.

Had to go to a little bar across the river called The Amorosa to get this view. Took a while to find, as it was tucked away in a small alleyway on the 4th floor of a small hotel called Arun Residence. Used fluorescent white balance to get the blue cast. No tripod, had to rely on a balcony ledge.
